President's Christmas Message
So many members to thank !
You may have noticed we have had a skip at the back of the clubhouse, to remove damages and obsolete goods from outside and inside the clubhouse.
Thankyou to the “Monday Boys” for their assistance, not forgetting Margaret Barker who supplies the boys with their coffee while doing multiple things around the club.
The Christmas party was fun with delicious food purchased and prepared by Joy Elliot. What an effort !!
As always, thankyou to all the members who served and cleaned up afterwards.
Also thankyou to the members for their generously donated towards the raffle prizes. We raised $525, covering the cost of the meal.
Those members who do not have family commitments, may be able to complete the outstanding Club Championship matches during the pennant break.
I wish members a very happy and healthy Xmas break and successful bowling year ahead.
Regards
Judy Force (President)
Barefoot Bowls - Taking a Break
Friday night’s Barefoot Bowls is now in recess and will resume again after the holiday season - watch this space.
The club is still open for any members to have a roll up - but no barbecue or bar.
Tatts Club Enjoys Sandy Hospitality
Our club once again played host to the roving Tatts Club for the second time this year. Both greens were utilised with 65 bowlers enjoying the new faster grass green as well as the synthetic surface.
Afternoon tea is always a highlight of these days. The Sandy kitchen group put on a magnificent spread as always. Thanks to all for all the cooking, presentation and clearing - it takes a team.
Club Championships 24/25 Draw
On Sunday four club members drew all of our Club Championship events. The results have now been placed on the Notice Board in the Club foyer.
All names and events were drawn from a hat (blind draw). The same as we did last year which hopefully will satisfy most members.
The handicaps applied to Bowlers in the Proportional event were determined by averaging the opinions of four of our senior experienced bowlers / selectors who were not aware of the handicaps each were suggesting. I understand that there is no exact method of applying handicaps, however going on last season’s handicaps, I found most of the participants (last season) except this method.
