Sandy Winners at Women's Fours Tournament at Hampton Bayside Bowling Club
The team of Liz Lawless, Ingrid Edelmaier, Pam Henderson and Karen Elias took out the big money at the Margaret Radford Women’s Fours Day at Hampton Bayside Bowling Club.
Three teams entered from Sandy enjoying a great day of bowls with women from all around the district.
Congratulations to all our bowlers but especially Liz and her team.

Special Bowls Information Session - Saturday 20 September (after Bowls)
The Selectors have revised and updated the selection process in an attempt to make it fairer, more transparent and more stable for the enjoyment and success of all our members. The details are now contained on the this website which has been updated by Diana Ricketts to make it more user friendly and navigable.
Please familiarise yourselves with the relevant sections before the meeting so that you can have any questions answered. The key sections to be found under menu item “Bowls - Pennant” are: Selection Principles and Criteria (the new squad process explained) Match performance Assessments (a revised system explained) Unavailability (expectations and responsibilities clarified) Responsibilities - Side Captain and Side Manager Provisional squads have now been selected and will be placed on the Notice Board at the end of the meeting . Plans for pre season practice games will be presented at the meeting.
Championship plans will be announced at the meeting. Rob Elliot will provide an update on the grass green at the meeting. No Bowls at Sandy - Saturday 13 September
Our neighbour, the Soccer Club, is hosting a major event on Saturday 13 September and will require extra parking on that day.
It has therefore been decided to cancel our Saturday social bowls leaving the extra car parking space for the soccer players who may also be using our clubhouse facilities and bar (thanks Trev!)I.

Tough Competition at Australian Bowls Championship
Both Sandy Men’s and Women’s Fours came up against strong opposition in their opening rounds in particular the men who bowled against the reigning champions. But our congratulations go to all those who competed from our club. A great experience!
Always something to learn and no doubt we will hear all about their games and the days to come as spectators.
